PROGRAMME “YOUTH IN ACTION – 2007 / 2013”

ECO-DESING : RESOURCE FOR YOUTH CREATIVITY

 Contexte

The idea of the youth exchange is base on the discussion of young people about leisure. Infact, whatever is their own leisure, they share a same interest for “creativity”. They understand creativity as an indivual and collective resource.

“Eco-design” theme is very representative of their sense of observation and curiosity. “Eco-design” allows also to experiment a new dimension of “doing” without boundaries between art and design, tecnical capacity and free creativity. The theme also is enable to talk about environmental and consumption behaviours. To conclude, we also have to stress that one of the mere idea of “eco-design” is “conducting an experiment to solve a problem”.  This youth exchange match also the european initiative “2009, european year of innovation and creativity”.

 Overall aim

„      Sviluppare and exploit “youth creativity” through eco-design, underlying to civil and public society, topic relevance in particolar to promote youth as economic, social and cultural resources

 Specific aims

„      Foster, in the framework of the european initiative “2009, European year of innovation and creativity”, the concept of Creativity through direct relationship between 50 young people from 5 different european states

„      Experiment eco-desing processes through workshop organisation

„      Awareness-rasing campaign adressed to local comunity and public bodies, about the relevance assumed by creativity for young people, even the most disavantaged ones, through the organisation of a public event. This will be the opportunity to present to the local comunity work made by young people during the exchange

 Activities

„      Meeting with professionels involved in eco-desing theme

„      Practical eco-design laboratories : young participants develop single, collective pieces of work made with recycled material

„      Organisation of a final event where young participants present their pieces of work

„      Press workshop (written press, video-foto, web) in order to disseminate the action in the different local communities involved in the project

„      Intercultural evening

„      Evaluation activity

 Results

„      Awarness-raising of young people, about cultural and artistic wealth of european heritage

„      Facilitation of best practices exchange between european young people

„      Young people are put in a situation of active citizenship, through eco-design workshops and implementation of a public event

„      Improve youth knowledge about european opportunities related to personal development through mobility, traning, social inclusion

„      10 days excluding travel days in June 2009
